About Seety
Seety is a fast-growing Belgian mobility scale-up with a clear mission: to make parking and urban mobility simpler, smarter and more accessible. We are building a single solution that allows drivers to understand, compare and pay for all their mobility expenses, from parking and fuel to EV charging and other mobility services. Our application is already used by more than 1.3 million Seetyzens across Europe, and this is just the beginning. Maps are among Seety's most important assets. They help our users understand the parking regulations that apply to them, identify more advantageous parking options nearby and locate the most suitable fuel or charging stations. Parking regulations and mobility services can be complex, and our mission is to make them visual, accurate and easy to understand. We are therefore looking for a Mapping Analyst Intern to help us create, maintain and continuously improve our maps as Seety expands into new cities and markets.
Your Mission
You will work with our mapping, product, technical and operations teams to transform complex geographic and regulatory information into clear and reliable maps used every day by our community. This is a hands-on internship during which you will gain practical experience in geospatial analysis, data collection and map management. You will progressively take ownership of your responsibilities and contribute directly to the quality of one of Seety’s most important assets. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing parking regulations and helping create accurate maps for new cities.
- Managing and updating maps in cities where Seety is already active.
- Collecting, structuring and validating geographic data from different sources.
- Creating and maintaining map layers for parking areas, public car parks, fuel stations, EV charging stations, accessible parking spaces and other mobility services.
- Interacting with local mappers and users to identify errors and improve the quality of our maps.
- Researching information from cities and local authorities to understand and clarify regulations.
- Performing quality checks to ensure our maps are complete, consistent and accurate.
- Working with our product and technical teams to improve the mapping features of our web and mobile applications.
- Contributing ideas to make our mapping tools and processes more efficient and scalable.
Your Profile
- You are currently enrolled in an academic programme in geography, geomatics, urban planning, data analysis, computer science or a related field.
- The internship must form part of your studies and be covered by an official internship agreement with your educational institution.
- You are analytical, hands-on and eager to learn.
- You have excellent attention to detail and enjoy investigating inconsistencies.
- You enjoy working with geospatial data and are comfortable reading and interpreting maps.
- You have an interest in mapping or GIS tools such as JOSM, QGIS or similar software.
- You are organised and able to manage large amounts of information accurately.
- You are proactive, solution-oriented and comfortable taking initiative.
- You enjoy collaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- You have a strong interest in mobile applications, smart cities, mobility and new technologies.
- You are fluent in English and French and/or Dutch.
Previous experience with OpenStreetMap, QGIS, ArcGIS, geospatial databases, data analysis or mobility data is a plus, but not required.
